Welcome District Residency Officers!

Hello. The purpose of this site is to provide a forum & resource for all public school district residency officers. The generic "district residency officer" varies from district to district. The position may fall to a Vice-Principal or an Attendance Officer or a Guidance Counselor or a secretary or it may be a position in its own right. It may be a part-time or full-time position or it may be an additional job for someone in the district. Whatever the situation, this forum is for those who work directly with district residency.

The focus will be on residency laws & issues that district residency officers come across in their district each & every day. These will cover the spectrum from Federal educational law to issues that one particular district may be facing. Each school district has fundamental residency policies as proscribed by law. In addition, they also have local district policies, procedures & requirements, such as type of residency proof required to enroll a student. It is hoped that through the exchange of information & ideas on this site that we may be better able to perform our daily duties & maintain the integrity of our district residency requirements & policies.

This site will rely mostly on interaction between us, the district residency officers. That is accomplished by using the message forum on this site.
